Holiday farmers market draws hungry crowd in Dover

  DOVER — It took four months to grow the carrots, two hours to shovel them out from the snow and less than two hours for Stratham farmer Bob Wiggin to sell 250 pounds of the vegetable at the holiday farmers' market held at McIntosh College Saturday. Around 1,000 people visited the college's Dover campus for the event, which was co-sponsored by Seacoast Eat Local and the McIntosh Atlantic Culinary Academy. Wiggin's stand was set up near the door, and by 11 a.m. he had stacks of empty crates lined several feet in the air. All of a sudden, the "pain" of having to shovel two feet of covering snow the day before didn't seem that bad, he said. read more. . .
