IMMEDIATE RELEASE
The Barley House is Next Stop for
NH Growers’ Dinner Series
The 2007 New Hampshire
Growers’ Dinner series continues on August 10 and 11 at the Barley House in Concord.
This series of special dinner events highlights the use of local farm and food
products at local restaurants. The Barley House Chef/Owner, Brian Shea, has
planned a number of scrumptious dishes using New Hampshire
grown ingredients.
Chef Shea grew up
in western Massachusetts, attained a business degree
from St. Anselm’s College in New Hampshire and worked in
Boston’s financial district for a
time. In pursuit of a lifelong dream of owning a restaurant, Chef Shea moved to
New York to attend the famed
Culinary Institute of America. He has
worked in restaurants in Boston, New York
and Hawaii and also was a
professional beer brewer on a team that won numerous brewing awards and medals.
Chef Shea opened
the Barley House on Concord’s Main
Street in 2000.
Customer satisfaction is his number one goal and he looks to deliver
what he calls the “WOW” factor in quality and service to each diner.
For his Growers’
Dinner, Chef Shea has prepared a special menu of unique dishes featuring New
Hampshire raised pork, buffalo, seafood, seasonal
vegetables and berries. Fresh ingredients will be procured from local farm
resources. Local wines and beers will
also be highlighted at the dinner.
Diners may enjoy this menu on either Friday, Aug. 10, or Saturday, Aug.
11.
Growers’ Dinner
events are coordinated by the New Hampshire Farm to Restaurant Connection, a
program linking New Hampshire farms with New
Hampshire restaurants. The Growers’ Dinner at the Barley House is
the third in the 2007 series of New Hampshire
dinners being held from June to November.

House at 228-6363 for dinner details and reservation information. Also, visit www.thebarleyhouse.com to see a menu.
