Jack's of New London IMMEDIATE RELEASE Contact:
Jack's of New London to Host Growers' Harvest Dinner The New Hampshire Growers' Dinner series continues on October 14 as Jack's of New London takes center stage. The evening will feature the taste creations of Jack's chef, Jason Dacier utilizing the products of local farms. Growers' Dinner events are an effort of the New Hampshire Farm to Restaurant Initiative, a program linking New Hampshire farms with New Hampshire restaurants. The Growers' Harvest Dinner at Jack's is the second in a series, following a recent dinner at the Bedford Village Inn on September 23. Much as Winemaker Dinners celebrate the vintage harvest, Grower Dinners highlight local farm products and its producers. Talented chefs create dishes that feature the products of selected farmers. Menus (and recipes) are created to not only promote and commemorate the event, but to use as on-going public relations for both the farms and participating restaurants. These programs will also help to heighten awareness among the public for the quality, variety and availability of local products throughout New Hampshire. Both consumers and businesses are encouraged to purchase and enjoy New Hampshire's own whenever possible. (MORE) The October 14th evening will begin with a welcome program at neighboring Spring Ledge Farm, source of much of Jack's fresh produce. A tantalizing array of hors d'oeuvres, prepared by Chef Dacier, will be highlighted at the farm. New Hampshire Commissioner of Agriculture, Steve Taylor will also be on hand to greet guests. From Spring Ledge Farm, the event moves just down the street to Jack's dining room where guests will be treated to several courses of savory dishes all made with items from local farms, including seasonal vegetables, cheeses, apples, maple and more. The main entrees of the evening will feature local fish and elk meat. Chef Dacier is planning a few surprises as well! Space is limited at this unique event and reservations are required.
