Jack's of New London IMMEDIATE RELEASE Contact:
Jack's of New London will host the next dinner in the 2005 New Hampshire Growers' Dinner series on September 24. Jack's was the site of one of the very first New Hampshire Growers' Dinners in 2004, and was a sold out event. This year the dinner is being held at the historic Cleveland Barn on Main Street in New London. This location provides more than double the seating capacity from the 2004 dinner. The dinner this year is also a benefit for the Ausbon Sargent Land Preservation Trust. Jack's Executive Chef Jason Dacier has developed a delicious multi-course menu featuring local vegetables, buffalo, smoked bacon, New Hampshire seafood, trout, apples and maple syrup. New Hampshire wines, beers and other beverages will also be available and are included in the cost of the evening. Growers' Dinners are promotional events coordinated by the New Hampshire Farm to Restaurant Connection, a program linking New Hampshire farms and food producers with New Hampshire restaurants. The September 24th dinner hosted by Jack's is the seventh in a series of dinners scheduled from June through October at several restaurant locations around the state. Growers' Dinners highlight local farm products and its producers. Chefs create special dishes that feature the products of selected New Hampshire farmers. Menus are created to promote the event, and to use as on-going public relations for both the farms and participating restaurants. These programs also help to heighten awareness among the public for the quality, variety and availability of local products throughout New Hampshire. Both consumers and businesses are encouraged to purchase and enjoy New Hampshire's own whenever possible. The evening in New London begins at 6 pm with passed appetizers, followed by dinner. Space is limited at this unique event and reservations are required. For dinner details and reservations, call The Ausbon Sargent Land Preservation Trust at 526-6555.
